The Audit Office, having examined the Balance-sheet and accompanying accounts, and compared them with the relative books, documents, and securities, hereby certifies them to be in accordance therewith, subject to the following comments : (1) The rate of interest allowed on the Assurance and Reserve Fund and the Investment Fluctation Reserve has this year been fixed at 3 per cent., compared with 4| per cent, last year and 6 per cent, in previous years. (2) Interest has not been credited to certain benefit funds as required by regulations. (3) Advances exceeding the statutory margin of security have been made by the Native Trustee to the East Coast Maori Soldiers' Fund — G. F. C. Campbell, Controller and Auditor-General.
