No. 16. —Petition of Otahuhu Borough Council. Praying that a Commission be set up to inquire into the matter of main highways. I am directed to report that in the opinion of the Cbmmittee the petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 11th September, 1930.

No. 19.—Petition of Otahuhu Borough Council. Praying for an amendment of the Valuation of Land Act. I am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee the petition should be referred to the Government for consideration and inquiry, with a view to giving relief. 11th September, 1930.

No. 13.—Petition of Michael Power, of Whangarei. Praying for inquiry into his dismissal from the Police Force. I am directed to report that the Committee, after carefully weighing all the evidence, is of the opinion that the punishment meted out to ex-Constable Power was unduly severe, and recommends the petition to the Government for favourable consideration. 17th September, 1930.

No. 90.—Petition of Timothy Moriarty, of Stillwater. Praying for compensation for loss of title to certain land in Grey district. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make. 17th September, 1930.
