No. 34.—Petition of A. McEwen, of Miller's Flat, and 82 Others. Praying for the introduction of the natural enemy of the earwig. I am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee the petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. The Committee further desires to record its warm appreciation of the efforts that are being made bv the Department to combat the earwig pest. 11th August, 1926.

Dairy Industry Amendment Bill. I have the honour to report that the Committee has carefully considered the above Bill, and recommends that it be allowed to proceed, with the amendments shown on the copy of the Bill annexed hereto. 18th August, 1926.

Stock Amendment Bill. I have the honour to report that the Committee has carefully considered the above Bill, and recommends that it be allowed to proceed, with the amendments shown on the copy of the Bill annexed hereto. 25th August, 1926.

No. 271. —Petition of H. Stowell, of Pokohu, Te Teko. Praying for compensation for stock lost through the alleged carelessness of a rabbiter. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make. Bth September, 1926.

Noxious Weeds Amendment Bill. I have the honour to report that the Committee has carefully considered the above Bill, and recommends that it be allowed to proceed, with the amendments shown on the copy of the Bill annexed hereto. Bth September, 1926.

Special Report. I have the honour to report that the Agricultural and Pastoral Industries and Stock Committee desires to record its great appreciation of the tact and ability with which the Chairman, Sir George Hunter, has conducted the business of the Committee during the session. Final Report. I have the honour to report that the Agricultural and Pastoral Industries and Stock Committee, consisting of ten members, has held nine meetings during the session. The Committee reported on the following Bills, namely : Veterinary Surgeons, Stock Amendment, Dairy Industry Amendment, and Noxious Weeds Amendment. It also reported on two petitions.
