REPORTS. National Provident Fund Bill. I have the honour to report that the Committee has carefully considered the above Bill, and recommends that it be allowed to proceed, with the amendments shown on the copy of the Bill annexed hereto. 6th August, 1926.

Workers' Compensation Amendment Bill. The Labour Bills Committee, to which was referred the above-mentioned Bill, has the honour to report that it has carefully considered the provisions of the said Bill, and recommends it to the consideration 6f 'the Government, as it embodies provisions of a similar nature to the proposals of the Government in respect to amending the Workers' Compensation Act. 12th August, 1926.

Unemployed Workers Bill. The Labour Bills Committee, to which was referred the above-mentioned Bill, has the honour to report that it has received evidence in support of the proposal, but, as the question raised by it is a matter of policy, the Committee recommends the Bill to the consideration of the Government. 30th August, 1926.

Workers' Compensation Amendment Bill (No. 2). The Labour Bills Committee, to which was referred the above-mentioned Bill, has the honour to report that it has carefully considered the same, and recommends that it be allowed to proceed without amendment. 30th August, 1926.

No. 223, Petition of F. Sykes and 119 Others; No. 268, Petition of E. R. Duncan and 334 Others. Praying that in the interests of all small shopkeepers the hours for closing shops be fixed by Parliament instead of by the Arbitration Court. I am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee the petitions should be referred to the Government for consideration. Ist September, 1926.

Special Report. I have the honour to report that the members of the Labour Bills Committee desire to place on record their cordial appreciation of the ability, tact, and unfailing courtesy manifested during the session by its Chairman, Sir John Luke, Kt., C.M.G., on the conduct of the business of the Committee; and the members of the Committee further desire that this resolution be reported to the House. Special Report. I have the honour to report that the Labour Bills Committee desires to record its cordial appreciation of the courteous and able manner in which the Clerk of the Committee, Mr. P. Leo Minifie, has during the session performed his work. The Committee further desires that the same be reported to the House. 7th September, 1926.

Final Report. I have the honour to report that the Labour Bills Committee, consisting of ten members, has during the session held nine meetings. Four Bills and two petitions were referred to the Committee, and the same have been reported upon to the House. 7th September, 1926.
