I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your predecessor's despatch, No. 971, of the Bth Decemher, enclosing copies of a new edition of the regulations issued by the Board of Trade relating to the examination of engineers in the mercantile marine. 2. Ministers advise me that any alterations in the New Zealand regulations which may be necessary in order to coincide with the new edition issued by the Board of Trade will lie made at an early date.
