No. 11. —Petition of Eliza Jane Adams, of Auckland. Petitionek prays for compassionate allowance on account of her late husband's services in the Customs Department. I am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee this petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 23rd August, 1911.

No. 49.—Petition of Dunedin New Cathedral Board (Incorporated), of Dunedin. Petitioner prays for the remission of certain legacy duty charged. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make on this petition. 23rd August, 1911.

No. 34.—Petition of Donald Frasee and 75 Others, of Bull's. Petitioners pray that the Rangitikei Racing Club may have its licenses granted as heretofore. I am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee this petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration, ami that the attention of the Minister of Internal Affairs be specially directed to the great injustice which has in this instance been done to the Rangitikei Club. 23rd August, 1911.

No. 41. —Petition of Richard J. Feltus, of Auckland, Petitioner prays for inquiry and compensation for alleged ill-treatment in Auckland Mental Hospital. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make in connection with this petition. 23rd August, 1911,

No, 274 (1910), —Petition of Richard Kearns, of Auckland, Petitioner prays that alleged arrears of salary owing by the Postal Department may be paid to him. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make on this petition. 23rd August, 1911.

No. 60.—Petition of William Henry Clarke, of Newmarket, Auckland. Petitioner prays that he be allowed the full pension, and that the deductions made be paid to him. I am directed to report that the Committee recommends that a compassionate allowance be granted the petitioner equal to the pension he might have received, and also recommends that legislation be passed to prevent the recurrence of such cases.
