No. 57.—Petition of F. M. Hewson, of Auckland. Petitioner prays for some pecuniary recognition on account of services rendered in the Public Works Department. I am directed to report that, in the opinion of the Committee, this petition should lie referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 11th September, 1906.

No. 19.—Petition of James Lane, of Auckland. Petitioner prays for further compensation for loss of office as constable. I am directed to report that the Committee has nothing to add to the report of Ias1 your on a similar petition. 11th September, 1906.

No. 494, 1905.—Petition of John Lunn, of Dunedin. Petitioner prays for compensation for alterations in contract for Dunedin Post-office. I am directed to report that the Committee recommends that the petition be held over to give petitioner opportunity to exhaust other means of redress. 11th September, 1906.

No. 95.—Petition of E. P. Bunny and Another, of Lower Hutt. Petitioners pray for refund of £130, stamp duty. I am directed to report that, in the opinion of the Committee, this petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration, and that a sum of £130 be placed on the estimates to reimburse the petitioners. 14th September, 1906.

No. 77.—Petition of George Ebbett, of Hastings. Petitioner prays for refund of .£199 6s., stamp duty. I am directed to report that, in the opinion of the Committee, this petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration, and that the Government be recommended to place the sum of £199 6s. on the estimates to refund the amount of stamp duty to the petitioner. 14th September, 1906.

No 16.—Petition of Clara D. Hinton, of Arch Hill, Auckland. Petitioner prays for compassionate allowance on account of her late husband's services in the Armed Constabulary and Police Force.
