No. 466, 1905. —Petition of Hohepa Hawiea and 196 Others. Petitioners pray that no laws may be passed which would have the effect of depriving Maoris of their lands. I am directed to report that, as this petition refers to a matter of policy, the Committee offers no opinion on its merits, but recommends that it should be referred to the Government. 15th September, 1905.
