No. 767.—Charles F. Vernall, Orari. Petitioner states that he was discharged from the Railway service, and asks for an inquiry. I am directed to report that the Committee recommends this petition be referred to the Government for consideration. 27th October, 1903.

No. 764. —Petition of Charles J. Emery and 627 Others. Petitioners, who are employed in the Government workshops, request that their wages may be paid either weekly or fortnightly. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make. 27th October, 1903.

No. 829.—Petition of T. Walsh, Stratford. Petitioner prays for compensation in respect to an accident sustained while in charge of a train. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make. 3rd November, 1903. Referred back to the Committee, 3rd November.

No. 820. —Petition of Stanley V. Syme, Auckland. (No. 2.) Petitioner asks for compensation or annual allowance on account of injury received on the railway at Helensville in May, 1902. I am directed to report that, as this case has already been dealt with this session, the Committee has no further recommendation to make. 3rd November, 1903.

No. 829.—Petition of T. Walsh, of Stratford. (Second report.) Petitioner prays for compensation on account of accident sustained while in charge of a train. I have to report that the reconsideration of this petition was held over till next session to allow the petitioner an opportunity to attend if he wishes to do so. 18th November, 1903.

No. 748. —Petition of William Colville, of Crescent Road, Cnristchurch. Petitioner, who was in the railway service, asks for compassionate allowance, he having resigned his position. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make. 18th November, 1903.

No. 534. —Petition of Henry Davis and 1,092 Others on behalf of Joseph Dineen, lessee of the Railway Refreshment-rooms at Ashburton. Petitioners pray that compensation be given Mr. Dineen on account of "no license " being carried after he had taken over the rooms for a period of three years. I am directed to report that the Committee recommends this petition be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 18th November, 1903.

Nos. 843 and 844.—Petitions of James Miller and 25 Others and A. Madill and 49 Others, of Tuakau. Petitioners pray that suitable railway buildings may be erected, and ask that the Rotorua express train may be allowed to stop at Tuakau Station. I am directed to report that the Committee recommends that these petitions be referred to the Government for consideration. 18th November, 1903.
