I inspected the new hospital-site, and though not, in my opinion, equal to the one I formerly approved, still it will be a good site for a hospital when connected with local drainage and watersupply. It consists of sor 6 acres of good land resting on a shingle subsoil.

Dr. Cairns has taken the place of Dr. Slater and goes to Kuaotunu once a week and to Tairua when wanted. The Hospital is admirably looked after by Mr. and Mrs, Parker, and Mr. O'Brien, the Chairman, takes extreme interest in all its concerns.
