The transformation of the old wards into an out-patient department and dispensary is a good arrangement. I observe that the nurses here do not wear washing dresses. Dr. Crooke expresses strongly the need for a separate infirmary, where chronic incurable and helpless cases could be sent. The cost to the ratepayers of treating such cases in a- hospital is great and quite unnecessary, provided my recommendations, so often reiterated, could be carried out.
