RETRENCHMENT OF INSPECTORS IN THE POLICE FORCE.

Return to an Order of the House of Representatives, No. 59, of 9th July, 1891. Ordered, " That there be laid before this House a return showing—(l) the names of Police Inspectors recently retrenched, the ages of each, the length of service, and the dates upon which they were promoted to the rank o£ Inspector; also the record of their conduct whilst occupying the position of Inspectors, the latter to show what charges, if any, have been made against any or either of them, and tho result of such inquiries ; (2) the same particulars regarding the Inspectors retained in the service."—(Mr. Fish.)
