EDUCATION RESERVES IN EACH PROVINCIAL DISTRICT (RETURN OF), FOR PRIMARY, SECONDARY, COLLEGIATE, AND UNIVERSITY EDUCATION.

Return to an Order of the House of Representatives dated 30th May, 188S. Ordered, "That a return be laid before this House showing the area, situation, and approximate value of all endowments within the several provincial districts reserved for the purposes of primary, secondary, collegiate, and university education ; such return to specify the acreage of each endowment, its approximate distance from the nearest town, in whom it is vested, by whom it is occupied, and, if let, for what period and at what rental." — (Mr. Samuel)

SUMMARY OF RESERVES. [Note. —This return contains the information required by orders made on the 16th and 17th days of May, 1888, in relation to the same subject on the motions of Mr. Samuel and Mr. Goldie. A return of reserves of 50 acres and upwards within the Provincial Districts of Canterbury and Otago has already been made (E.-10, 1888), and the contents of that return are not repeated here.]
