Adjourned from the 17th instant. Besolvecl, That the following be the report: That the Committee have taken the evidence of the petitioner, Sir George Grey, K.C.8., the Hon. Major Atkinson, the Hon. Sir F. Whitaker, K.C.M.G., and Sir William Fitzherbert, K.C.M.G. They are, however, of opinion that, owing to the great importance of the questions involved and of the points raised, as well as the mass of correspondence and documentary evidence necessary to be examined and considered, it is impossible for the Committee, with the short time at their disposal, to attempt to arrive at a definite report during the present session of.Parliament. Besolved, That the minutes of evidence be appended to the report.
