I aim directed to inform you that a communication has this day been received from the postal authorities of New Zealand, concurring in the arrangement for this department to undertake the framing of a time-table under the renewed contract with the Pacific Mail Steamship Company, and to request that you will be good enough, in terms of your letter of the 18th instant, to cable to New York for exact dates of arrival at, and departure from, that place of the fast steamers across the Atlantic, and inform me of the result at your earliest possible convenience.
