PUNISHMENTS BY IMPRISONMENT AWARDED TO PRISONERS IN ADDITION TO ORIGINAL SENTENCES (RETURN OF) SINCE THE COMING INTO FORCE OF "THE PRISONS ACT, 1873."

Return to an, Order of the House of Representatives, dated 3rd August, 1882. " That there be laid upon the table a return showing the number of prisoners in the gaols of the colony to whom imprisonment in addition to original sentences has been awarded since the coming into force of ' The Prisons Act, 1873.' Such return to set forth the terms of original sentences, dates of original convictions, term or terms of additional imprisonments, for what offenoes, and by whom awarded, also dates of release after completion of original and additional gaol sentences." — {Mr. Feldwictc.)
