WASTE LANDS COMMITTEE (REPORT OF ON PETITION OF JOHN MUNRO AND OTHERS, TOGETHER WITH MINUTES OF EVIDENCE.)

REPORT. The Waste Lands Committee, to whom was referred the above petition, praying for permission to purchase the freeholds of their holdings, have directed me to report that they can see no good reason for complying with the prayer of the petitioners, and are further of opinion that the allegations of the petitioners as to the cost of management of the reserve are exaggerated, and the charges of arbitrary conduct on the part of the Commissioner are altogether unfounded.
