INTRODUCTION OF SALMON OVA, (FURTHER PAPERS RELATIVE TO). In continuation of Papers presented on the 3rd July, 1874.

Presented to both Souses of the General Assembly by command of Sis Excellency.

No. 1. His Honor the Superintendent, Otago, to the Hon. the Premier. (Telegram.) Dunedin, 4th July, 1874. Salmon Ova. —Will General Government contribute towards shipment from Clyde to Bluff, on same terms as were agreed last year ? Matters then fell through, chiefly from order going home too late in season. J. Macandrew.

No. 2. The Hon. the Premier to His Honor the Superintendent, Otago. (Telegram,) Wellington, Bth June, 1874. Re Salmon Ova.—Have consulted with Dr. Pollen. He agrees to take vote for £500, and, subject to its passing, we will agree to contribute on same terms as last year. Julius Vogel.

No. 3. His Honor the Superintendent, Otago, to the Hon. the Premier. (Telegram.) Dunedin, 9th June, 1874. Re Salmon Ova.—l will repeat order for shipment from Clyde, on same understanding and terms as last year. J. Macandrew.

No. 4. The Hon. the Premier to His Honor the Superintendent, Otago. (Telegram.) Wellington, 11th June, 1874. Dr. Pollen is away; but I understand from him he is willing to agree to same terms as last year, subject to Assembly passing vote. Government will support. Julius Vogel.

No. 5. Mr. Perkins to the Hon. the Colonial Secretary. Sir, — Eldon Chambers, Invercargill, 13th June, 1874. I have the honor, on behalf of the Southland Acclimatization Society, to advise that a number of salmon fry have been placed by the Society in a pond constructed for the purpose in the vicinity of the Jacob's River, with convenience for their removal into that river as soon as they have assumed the migratory coat.
