Ordered, " That ail petitions not finally dealt with during the session of 1947 be again referred to the same Committees as they were referred to during the said session."—(Eight Hon. Mr. Fraser.) Tuesday, the 20th Day op July, 1948 Ordered, " That the Shipping and Seamen Amendment Bill be referred to the Labour Bills Committee."'—(Hon. Mr. Hackett.) Friday, the 20th Day of August, 1948 Ordered, " That the Apprentices Bill be referred to the Labour Bills Committee."—(Hon. Mr. McLagan.) Ordered, " That the name of Mr. Sullivan be discharged from the Labour Bills Committee and that of Mr. Sutherland substituted therefor."—(Hon. Mr. McLagan.) Wednesday, the Ist Day op September, 1948 Ordered, " That the Trades Certification Bill be referred to the Labour Bills Committee."(Hon. Mr. McCombs.) No. 7/1947 —Petition of J. H. McKenzie, of Wellington Praying for further compensation on account of injuries sustained while employed at Granity Coal-mine. I am directed to report that the Committee has considered this petition, and recommends that it be referred to the Government for consideration. 28th July, 1948.

Shipping and Seamen Amendment Bill I have the honour to report that the Labour Bills Committee has carefully considered the Shipping and Seamen Amendment Bill, and recommends that the Bill be allowed to proceed with the amendment shown in the copy of the Bill hereto annexed. 12th August, 1948.
No. 74/1947 —Petition of W. Smith, of Wellington Praying for additional compensation for an injury sustained during his employment. I am directed to report that the Committee has carefully considered the petition, and has no recommendation to make. 25th August, 1948.
No. 28-—Petition of R. E. Harrison and Others, of Palmerston North Praying for exemption from the provisions of section 18 of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Act, 1936. I am directed to report that the Committee has carefully considered the petition, and has no recommendation to make. 25th August, 1948.
Apprentices Bill I have the honour to report that the Labour Bills Committee has carefully considered the Apprentices Bill, and recommends that the Bill be allowed to proceed with the amendments shown in the copy of the Bill hereto annexed. 14th September, 1948,
Trades Certification Bill I have the honour to report that the Labour Bills Committee has carefully considered the Trades Certification Bill, and recommends that the Bill be allowed to proceed without further amendment. 15th September, 1948.
Tenancy Bill I have the honour to report that the Labour Bills Committee has carefully considered the Tenancy Bill, and recommends that the Bill be allowed to proceed with the amendments shown in the copy of the Bill annexed hereto. 30th November, 1948. C. H. Chapman, Chairman.
