Extracts from the Journals of the House of Representatives Wednesday, the 10th Day of November, 1948 Ordered, " That a Select Committee be appointed, consisting of nine members, to which shall be referred for consideration and report the Licensing Amendment Bill: the Committee to consist of Mr. Coleman, Dr. Finlay, Mr. Gerard, Mr. Goosman, Mr. Holyoake, Mr. Mathison, Mr. Moohan, Mr. Webb, and the Mover." —(Hon. Mr. Mason.) Ordered, " That the Licensing Amendment Bill be referred to the Licensing Amendment Bill Committee." —(Hon. Mr. Mason.) Thursday, the 11th Day oe November, 1948 Ordered, " That the Licensing Amendment Bill Committee have leave to sit during sittings of the House, and also on non-sitting days, until such time as the Committee is able to report the Bill back to the House." —(Mr. Mathison.) Ordered, " That the proceedings of the Licensing Amendment Bill Committee during the taking of evidence be open to accredited representatives of the press."-—(Mr. Mathison.)
REPORTS
Special Report I have the honour to report that the Licensing Amendment Bill Committee has passed the following resolution : —- " That the proceedings of the Licensing Amendment Bill Committee during the taking of evidence be open to accredited representatives of the press, and that the Chairman do report the resolution to the House and move the adoption thereof by the House." 11th November, 1948.

Licensing Amendment Bill I have the honour to report that the Licensing Amendment Bill Committee has carefully considered the Licensing Amendment Bill, and recommends that the Bill be allowed to proceed, with the amendments shown in the copy of the Bill hereto annexed. J. Mathison, Chairman. 26th November, 1948.
