WEDDING
CHURCH—WILSON St. George’s Anglican Church, Whakatane, was the scene of a pretty wedding, when Frances, only daughter of Mr and Mrs C. R. Wilson, of Whakatane, was married to FlightLieutenant D. M. B. Church (returned overseas), eldest son of Mrs V. Church, Hamilton. The Rev. J. C. J. Wilson performed the ceremony. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a charming frock of white organdie with a sweetheart neckline, a juliet cap with a fingertip length veil, and carried a bouquet of shasta daisies, snowdrops, and paperwhites. The bridesmaid was Miss Gay Burt, a cousin of the bride, who wore a pink organdie frock, cut on similar lines to that of the bride. She carried a bouquet of pink flowers, and wore matching flowers in her hair. The bridegroom was attended by Flying-Officer John Atkinson, of Auckland. The reception was held at the Commercial Hotel, Whakatane, where the guests were received by the bride’s mother assisted by the bridegroom’s mother. When Mr and Mrs D. M. B. Church left for Rotorua, the bride was wearing a duckegg blue frock with navy coat and accessories.
