WOMEN’S DIVISION
SOUTH AUCKLAND COUNCIL The annua 1 , meeting or the South Auckland Provincial , Council was held in the Y.W.C A. rooms with good representation from branches, 33 delegates attending A motion of sympathy was passed to all members who had suffered bereavement. The minutes of the last annual meeting were read by the secretary, after which the president gave her annual report. This gave an account of the excellent work that had been accomplished by all branches in the provincial area Three rest homes are now completely established. The last to be officially opened is Te Kiteroa in the South Island. These rest homes are proving to be a great benefit to tired country mothers Mrs Empson gave the report on the housekeeping section of W.D. work and stated 52 engagements were filled during the year. The financial statement showed a satifactory position. Election of officers for the ensuing year resulted:—President, Mrs McWhannell (reelected); secretary, Mrs Jenkinson (reelected); vice-presidents, Masdames Vercoe. Ray and Miss Jamieson; housekeeping secretary, Mrs Rybum; committee. Mesdames Duxfield, Mexted, Duncan, Hanacock and Vickers; fianance commiltee, Mesdames McWhannell, Tenkinson, and Miss Jamieson; adult education. Mesdames McWhannell, Jenkinson and Cox.
