CALF CLUB FIELD DAY The pupils or the Kalpaki School recently held a field day Tor calves, lambs and pets. Mr R. Wattam was again the judg-e, and was accompanied by Mr A. Fletcher, Mr A. M. Fisher and the agricultural Inspector, Mr Dill Mackie. After Mr Wattam had demonstrated to the children the points to be noted in a good cair. be Judged a-s rollows:—Rest dairy type: Ettie Douglas l. Retlie Vickers 2, Z ill ah Vickers 3. Handling and leading: Ettie Douglas l, Bettie Peters 2, Bettie Vickers 3. Bloom and condition: Ettie Douglas 1, Bettie Vickers 2, Zillah VickGI Pets I judge, Mr Dill Macky): Best dog, Allan McETdowney 1. Best cat: Mary Douglas 1. Best kitten: Pamela McEidownev 1. Best rooster: Kathleen Hampton. Best canary: Ivan and Bryan Whisker 1, Peter Woolse 2. In the calf judging competition, open to school boys and visitors, lan Robinson was placed first, Ronald Sykes and Mr Akeburst were equal Tor second place, and Peter Woolfe and Mr Douglas equal Tor third place. In conjunction with the cair Judging a small flower show was held, the winners being as rollows: —Best vase of flowers: Senior, Bettie Vickers 1, Mary Douglas 2, Colleen Parris 3. Buttonhole: Margaret Harvey 1, Ettie Douglas 2. Best vase or Rowers, juniors: Anna Cowie 1, Beverley Cunningham 2, Ruth Paris 3.
