SOCIAL NOTES
Mrs J. White Foley, Auckland, is visiting Hamilton. Mrs Arthur Tait, of Sydney, was a visitor to Hamilton yesterday. Mrs E. - Mears has left on a holiday to the South Island. Mrs N. E. Nalder, Hamilton, is spending a holiday at the West Coast, Auckland. Miss Dorothy Stevenson, one of the principal dancers of the Borovansky Ballet, which will come to Hamilton next week, is the daughter of the Bishop of Grafton. Mrs Claude Taylor, Provincial Commandant of Voluntary Aids for •Wellington district, has been promoted to the position of Dominion Commandant of Voluntary Aids, in place of Miss S. Mackenzie. There are 4000 voluntary aid members of the Order of St. John in New Zealand, many of whom have joined the medical section of the Armed Forces, and are serving in New Zealand and overseas, and have also joined the Civil Nursing Reserve. Mrs Taylor is the wife of Dr. Claude Taylor, Director of the Tuberculosis Division of-the Health Department. A patriotic bring-and-buy will be held at the Waikato Lyceum Club tomorrow from 10.15 a.m. An attractive range of goods suitable for Christmas gifts, such as fancy aprons and children’s clothes, in addition to cakes, produce and flowers, will be on sale. There will also be a jumble stall.
