WEDDING

GILES-BARRON The marriage was solemnised reat St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Cnurch, Claudelands, between Mary, second daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Barron, of Pukeatua, Te Awamutu, and Cecil Raymond, youngest son of Mr and Mrs E. Giles, of Claudelands. The Rev. H. G. Gilbert officiated and Mr E. P. Apthorp presided at the organ. The church was artistically decorated with lilies, foxglove and roses by friends of the bride. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a beautiful trained gown of white georgette over taffeta, featuring a square neckline and slim fitting bodice appli'qued in satin. A tulle veil with long train and embroidered with lace lover’s knots hung gracefully from a coronet of orange blossom and tiny lilies. Her shower bouquet was of white roses, orange blossom and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Margaret Barron, who wore a gown of jubilee blue cloque cut on slim fitting lines with full bodice trimmed with tiny blue buttons. She wore a shoulder length veil of blue tulle gathered into a topknot with three carnations, matching her bouquet of pink roses, antirrhinums, blue larkspur and maidenhair fern. Attending the bridegroom was Mr Maurice Anderson, of Auckland. During the signing of the register the solo “Just for To-day” was sung by Mr F. Howard. A reception was held afterwards at the Centreway Tearooms, where Mrs Barron received her guests wearing a black satin crepe frock, wool georgette coat and accessories to match. Assisting the bride’s mother was Mrs E. Giles, who wore a black model costume with matching hat and accessories. During the reception Mr F. Howard sang the solo “Because.” When Mr and Mrs C. R. Giles left for their honeymoon, the bride travelled in a cerulean blue linen costume, white Swiss straw hat with blue veiling and white accessories. Mr and Mrs Giles will make their home in Hamilton.
