MINER KILLED
BURIED UNDER COAL (By Telegraph—Press Association) WHANGAREI, Friday Struck and buried by a fall of coal when working about 20 chains underground in the Kamo mine this morning, a miner died before admission to the Whangarei Hospital. He was Mr Henry John Dobson, aged 57, married, of Whangarei. Working with another miner, Mr Dobson was engaged extracting pillars of coal when he was almost completely buried by a fall of two tons. His companion immediately summoned assistance. Mr Dobson wa; dug out alive but unconscious, and was dead on arrival at the hospital.
