CHINESE FINED
PRICE OF CARROTS Charges of selling carrots at a price which involved a breach of a price order resulted in three Chinese fruiterers each being fined £lO by Mr W. H. Freeman, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court, Hamilton, today. Mr H. T. Gillies prosecuted. Defendants were Willie Lowe, trading as Sun Chong and Company, Tom Tung (Tung Fruit Company), and George Young. Harold Lipscombe, inspector, employed by the Price Tribunal, Auckland, described visiting the three shops cn an afternoon in March, when he made the purchases mentioned in the charges.
