FARMER FINED £5
ILLEGAL USE OF PETROL A Gordonton farmer, Leo David Patrick Stewart, who drew 30 gallons of petrol on a license granted for a tractor which he had earlier sold, and when the license was no longer valid, was fined £5 by Mr W. H. Freeman, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court, Hamilton, today. Defendant pleaded guilty. Detective-Sergeant W. R. Murray, who conducted the prosecution, said Stewart had been very frank m admitting the facts. He had used the petrol illegally gained in a trip to Auckland to secure medical attention for his wife and on matters connected with the farm.
