WEDDINGS

HILL—CRES SWELL The marriage was celebrated at First Church, Frankton, recently between Jessie Annie, only daughter of Mr and Mrs C. J. CressweU, of 124 Ward Street Hamilton (late of Eureka) and Leo Henry Edward, eldest son of Mr and Mrs E. Hill, 3 Mason Avenue, Claudelands. The bridegroom was recently invalided home after service in the Middle East. The Rev. C. L. French performed the ceremony and Mrs A. MoLachlan presided at the organ. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a model frock of dusky pink with a matching hat and she carried a bouquet of pink carnations and chrysanthemums. In attendance as bridesmaids were Miss Norma Johns, of Eureka, and Miss Sonia Wilson, of Tirau, cousin of the bride. They wore similar frocks of Marina blue crepe with matching hats and carried bouquets of chrysanthemums in shades of pink.

Mr Hugh Coulston, also recently invalided home from the Middle East, was best man and Mr Clarrie Cresswell, brother of the bride, was groomsman. Mr Alton Johns and Mr S. Yorston were ushers at the church. The bride’s mother received her guests wearing a black tailored frock with matching hat and a shoulder snray of red roses and carnations. Mrs Hill wore a black and white ensemble with matching hat and shoulder spray of white chrysanthemums. The bride travelled in a frock of henna crepe under a fur coat, with black accessories. . Mr and Mrs L. Hill will make their home in Hamilton.
