ATTEMPTED MURDER

Copyright) (Received April 11, 1 p.m.) MEXICO CITY, April 10 Lieutenant Lama Rojas attenmpted to assassinate the President, General Camacho, when he was walking from his car to a private elevator at the National Palace. Lieutenant Rojas saluted and walked towards General Camacho, who, thinking that Lieutenant Rojas desired to interview him, paused. The lieutenant then fired an automatic pjstol. The bullet entered General Camacho’s clothes, but did not wound him. General Camacho seized ana held his assailant . until assistance arrived. Lieutenant Rojas, when questioned, explained that he wanted ll) protest to the President because he was not allowed to attend Mass in uniform, which he considered unfair. The American Press said that several Nazi documents were found on Lieutenant Rojas. The bullet passed through General Camacho’s coat directly above the heart.
