REDUCTION GAZETTED WELLINGTON, Thursday Regulations authorising the recently announced reduction in the 'amount of the premium necessary to jbe paid under the War Damage Act I are gazetted tonight. The amount of ! the reduction is from 5s per cent to Is per cent, the same as that announced by the Minister of Finance, the Hon. W. Nash, some time ago. One new clause alters the amount of the premejm to be paid by mortgagees. the clause reading as follows: ; “The proportion of war damage prejmium, or premiums, payable by a ! j mortgagee under any mortgage, shall jnot exceed the interest payable unIder Ihe mortgage for the preceding year.” Another clause grants to ten- # ants and others bound under con- ’ I tract with a mortgagor the same ’ rights cf recovery as are held by ! the mortgagor.
