RAIDS ON MARSHALLS
THREE VESSELS BOMBED WASHINGTON, Jan. 13 WASHINGTON,, Jan. 13 When Army Air Force bombers struck Maloeiap atoll, in the Marshalls, a small auxiliary vessel was sunk, a medium cargo ship was heavily bombed and probably sunk and a large destroyer heavily damaged, says a Pacific Fleet communique. Installations on several atolls and islands also were bombed. Two attacks were carried out against Mili atoll. Enemy bombers attacked Tarawa, causing minor damage to installations and minor casualties.
