POLISH CRISIS
DEMANDS BY RUSSIANS ATTITUDE OF ALLIES MILITARY ORDERS FOUND I tUimpd Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received Jan. 13, 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 12 Orders to Polish military guerillas to oppose the Red Army troops ent- ■ ering Poland have been found, it is j reliably. reported in London. The guerillas are commanded by * the Polish Commander-in-Chief in j London, General Sosnkowski, who ] has not yet endorsed the Polish Gov- \ eminent appeal to civilians not to hinder the Russian troops. The Evening Standard says that I the operations of the underground! forces con trailed by the Polish Gov- * ernment have been hampered by the divergent orders, which they have received. A clear, unequivocal statement by General Sosnkowski is of urgent military importance if the maximum effort is to be made against the Germans. The crisis developing in the Polish Cabinet in London is expected to reach a'head in the next few days. At yesterday’s meeting on the Russians’ border proposals some of the less well-known Ministers tried to persuade the diehards to modify their attitude to Russia. Observers in London believe that they are prepared to precipitate a crisis if it will | solve Poland’s problems. United Nations’ Move The British United Press says that | the next move in the dispute is up j to the United Nations as a whole. It; is fairly obvious that Marshal Stalin ! will have no dealings with the Polish ; Government in London. The Daily Telegraph’s diplomatic correspondent says that the Russians are willing to listen to any suggestion from the Polish Government which they consider reasonable. If the Poles will not meet them halfway, however, a final settlement may be placed in other hands.
