The King has approved of the appointment of Mr Nigel Stewart, British Consul at Monte Video, to te British Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary at Asuncion, in succes-ior to Mr Daniel Brichtll, says a message from London. Mr A. H Bradshaw, of Hastings, is visiting Hamilton. Mr A. E. Houston, of Auckland, is a visitor to Hamilton. Mr W. Mayall, of Auckland, is in Hamilton. Mr A. M. Bartley, of Auckland, is visiting Hamilton. Mr A. S. Sutherland, M.P. for Hauraki, was a visitor to Hamilton yesterday. Mr F. A. de la Mare, of Hamilton, is in Christchurch for the annual meeting of the Senate of the University of New Zealand. Brigadier A. Hildreth, formerly manager of the Salvation Army training farm at Putaruru, has been appointed manager of the Whatman Children’s Home in Masterton
