EXPLOSIONS AX AERODROME (Ofllcial Wireless) (Received Sept, 28, 11.30 a.m.) RUGBY, Sept. 27 A Middle East communique states: Royal Air Force Liberators and Halifaxes atatacked the Kalamaki aerodrome, near Athens, on Saturday night. Bombs burst in the dispersal area and two large explosions were seen. Beaufighters left a merchantman smoking after an attack in daylight yesterday on Syros harbour, which is 80 miles south-east of Athens and less than 100 miles from the new British bases on Samos Island, in the Dodecanese group. We lost one aircraft.
