War Work At 80
A Welsh woman, Mrs W. Bale, of Cy miner, Maesteg, Glamorgan, is 80 years of age and still an active and efficient telephone operator, probably the oldest in Britain. Her husband, Mr W. Bale, is 84, and a retired stationmaster. He is working again, this time as public librarian at Cymmer. and he must be one of Britain’s oldest librarians.
