BIRTHDAY GIFT

RACING CLUB PRESENTATION To mark his 70th, birthday the committee of the Waipa Racing Club waited on Mr Francis Quin at his home, “Islabank,” Te Awamutu, on Thursday night and presented him with a silver tea tray. Mr Quin was founder of the Waipa Club and held several offices, including president and treasurer, and was the first life member of the club. This year’s president, Mr J. T. Young, made the presentation and referred to the high esteem in which Mr Quin was held, not only among the sporting fraternity but throughout the Waikato, for his public services, honesty of purpose, and readiness at all times to assist and encourage others. Several other speakers eulogised Mr Quin, and coupled Mrs Quin in their remarks for her consistent support throughout the years.
