FATAL HOTEL FIRE
DEATH-ROLL TOTALS 46 NEW YORK, Sept. 7 Fire at 3 a m. today gutted a hotel at Houston, Texas. The residents were mostly male pensioners. The death-roll totals 46. The fire was started by a cigarette. It was believed to have been extinguished and many inmates of the hotel returned to their beds Later the fire restarted and soon the entire building was ablaze.
