WEDDING

. BANKS—HEWITT St. Andrew’s Church, Cambridge, was the scene of a pretty wedding when Iva Winifred Jean, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs H. H. P. Hewitt, of “Atholstone,” Te Miro, was married to Hamish John, third son of Mr and Mrs W. E. L. Banks, Tamahere. The Rev. C. W. Chandler officiated and Mr R. B. Boyce officiated at the organ. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a gown of magnolia pink hammered-satin overshadowed by an embroidered tulle veil surmounted with a matching pink feather bird. Chrysanthemums, rose-buds and maidenhair fern made her bouquet. Mrs J. R. J. Moore, sister of the bride, attended as matron-of-honour, and Miss Norma Rowe, W.R.N.S., Wellington, was bridesmaid. They were dressed alike in frocks of dusty pink angelskin. Their headdress of pink tulle and their muffs were ornamented by matching sprays of chrysanthemums, tiny lilies and maidenhair. Mr Buster Jordan was best man and Mr Derek Banks, brother of the bridegroom, groomsman. The bride’s mother wore a sage green dress and hat and fur coat, and Mrs Banks wore a smart nut brown tailored costume and brown accessories. They both carried bouquets of autumn-tinted leaves and berries. The bride travelled wearing a multi-coloured dress, pale green hat and coat and tan accessories. They will make their home in Hamilton.
