Efficient Corps
Members of the Traffic Control ■ Corps, in battledress, did splendid work in directing traffic on “race ' day” in Hamilton last Saturday and j their efficiency in this respect was a ! big factor in obviating any suggesj tion of congestion in the stream of j traffic to and from the course. The | corps, under the charge of the traffic j inspector, Mr A. E. Hodgson, senior j inspector for the Transport Depart- ! ment, functions at present under i the traffic department but in a state ■ of emergency would immediately be , mobilised by the Army and become ; responsible for facilitating the quick j passage of Army vehicles and all j traffic leaving or coming into Hamil- | ton. Other units of the corps funcj tion in the various towns of the j Dominion under the direction of | traffic inspectors.
