GERMAN OFFICERS KILLED

GREAT UNREST IN PARIS (United Press Assn.— Klp<* Tel Copyriahn LONDON, March 8. Twenty-three German officers were killed when French guerillas attacked the casino at Lille with handgrenades and withdrew without loss, says the Fighting French headquarters in London. Unrest is sweeping Paris, where within a few days guerillas four times attacked Ger-man-occupied buildings. The guerillas surrounded the houses at night and threw grenades through the windows. How many Germans were killed is not known, but several ambulances drew up. A battle in the streets of Paris between German sentries and guerillas is also reported. The guerillas overpowered the sentries, so they were unable to give an alarm. They then entered a German garage and occupied it for an hour, destroyed all the vehicles, and set it on Are. No Frenchman in the neighbourhood reported the attack to the police. The outbreaks are associated with the rounding up by the Gestapo of people to be deported. The Germans say that the first 600,000 young French conscripts have left France to provide labour for Germany. They also say that about 13 per cent of young Frenchmen will have to go to Germany, but those ufiio stay in France will have to work for Germany.
