SPORTS COUNCIL
WAIKATO FEDERATION “Fifteen controlling bodies, representing about 2000 players have become affiliated, and although we have perhaps only fringed the problems that may confront us in the future at least it is possible to say that the interests of sport have been carefully watched,” said Mr c. G. Macl.aren, president of the Waikato Federated Sports Council, in his annual report to the council. “One of the ajjns of the council is the provision of premises which may be regarded as a headquarters for sport in this province. Any ambitious project will, of course, have to be shelved until after the war has been broungbt to a victorious conclusion.” The following officers were elected at the annual meeting:—President, Mr C. G. I MacLaren; vice-president, Mr H. J. Layne; secretary and treasurer, Mr T. J. B. Mason; auditor, Mr F. G. Russell; hon. solicitor’, Mr F. W. Course; executive committee, i Miss M. 11. Williamson, Messrs T. A. Ewan W. J. Tiller, A. Jane and J. Buillie; Miss I R. Stephenson and Mr T. C. Heard, Physical I Welfare officers.
