GAVE BOY GELIGNITE
CONTRACTOR FINED £5 HAWERA, Friday A contractor, John Parker, of Manaia, appeared before Mr Salmon, S.M., in Hawera, to answer a charge of delivering gelignite to Colin Alexander Dick, who was not authorised by a police permit to receive explosives. He pleaded guilty, and was fined £5. Parked used explosives in conenction with his work, said Senior-Sergeant Edwards. He gave a plug of gelignite to Dick, a youth, aged 16, who later let it off in the river.
