NUMBER PROHIBITED DIESEL OIL RESTRICTION WELLINGTON, Friday The decision to bring mineral turpentine, dry cleaners, white spirit and lighting kerosene within the scope of the Oil Fuel Regulations involves the complete prohibition of the use of these substitute fuels in motor vehicles. This was announced tonight by the oil fuel controller, Mr G. L. Laurenson, who said that the various products mentioned would be available in future only to people using them industrially. Mr Laurenson added that gas oil or automotive Diesel oil would be available for commercial transport vehicles specially fitted to use this fuel, and for internal combustion engines driving small plants, such as stone crushers. Supplies would be 1 granted only under license. In addition to the classes mentioned there ! were possibly a few other vehicles equipped to use the fuel, but before any licenses were granted for them they would have to be justified in the ordinary way.
