RAN AMOK
HALF-CASTE MAORI DAMAGE DONE BY FIKE TRAIL OF DEVASTATION (By Telegrapa.—Pres. Association) WHANGAREI. Saturday A half-caste Maori ran amok at Waihopo, on the Northland fumfields, and left a trail of devastation. He burned a Dalmatian’s house to the ground, smashed another with a sledge hammer, tried to fire the Public Hall and set alight a gum tip valued at between £2OOO and £3OOO. Finally he was found practically undressed in the tea-tree and was arrested by the police. He was brought before the Court and remanded for a week. Arrangements are beng made for medical examination.
