ORPHANAGES BENEFIT
APPEAL BY UNITED COUNCIL By the appeal which the Auckland Orphanages United Council conducted last September 14 orphanages and children’s homes in the Auckland Province have benefited to the extent of £4200. The ratio of all expenses to the total amount received, £4697, was approximately 5£ per cent, according to the council’s statement of accounts. The orphanages to which the distribution was made comprised three Anglican, three Roman Catholic, three Salvation Army, two Presbyterian, two Methodist and one Baptist.
