Mr H. D. Caro, Mayor of Hamilton, is visiting Wellington. Mr H. W. Nixon, of Wellington, is in Hamilton.
Mr John Philp, deputy-superinten-dent of the Wellington City Fire Brigade has been selected as superintendent of the Invercargill brigade. There were 16 applicants. Messrs T. M. Ryan (Invercargill), P. V. Miles, G. R. Milne, T. Conningham (Wellington), A. Smith, R. H. Coles and J. Eily (Auckland), are at the Hamilton Hotel. Messrs S. W. Foster, P. W. Dand, R. B. Gibbons (Wellington), L. E. Taylor (Palmerston North), L. B. Wright, J. Williams, T. McShane, R. J. Sutherland, B. Mankelow, B. Paton, H. O. Wallis, F. A. Kenny, R. Kydd, H. Guy (Auckland) and L. E. Griffin (Thames) are at the Commercial Hotel.
