He was.— Mr Allan Marim, aged 37, married, locomotive fireman, of 2A Lyon 1 Street. Mr Martin, who had been married for only three weeks, arrived at Frank ton recently on transfer from Gisborne. His parents live in Dunedin. Mr Martin was riding his bicycle to work at 3.45 this morning and was passing a shunting engine in the locomotive yards wnen tne incoming express struck him, his ner.d taking the full force of the impact. An inquest was opened at the Wai- ■ kato Hospital this afternoon.
