JAPANESE BOMBING
SINGAPORE AND HONGKONG CAPTURE OF MARINES (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, Dec. 8 The officer commanding the British forces in Malaya, Lieutenant-General A. E. Percival, said today that the Japanese forces are in possession of Soirthern Thailand, states an agency message. In raids on Singapore this morning two waves of enemy bombers came over. There were six machines in the first wave and five in the second, the planes flying at 17,000 feet. Hongkong was bombed twice this morning. The British garrison had blown up roads and the railway by 7.30 this morning. The situation is developing as expected. According to a message from New York the National Broadcasting Company said the United States aircraftcarrier Langley was reported unofficially from Manila to have been damaged in action with Japanese forces. Tokio says that 63 American marines guarding the United States Consulate at Tientsin have been captured and disarmed.
