RAIDS ON PHILIPPINES BOMBING BY JAPANESE (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) WASHINGTON, Dec. 8 Official: The casualties at Oahu in yesterday’s Japanese air attack were about 3000, including 1500 fatal. MANILA, Dec. 8 The American Press correspondent says the Japanese bombed military bases and ports throughout the Philippines today, including the big port of Stotensburg, Baguio, Davao, Aparri and the Batan Island group. Parachute Troops Land
An N.B.C. broadcast from Manila states: Japanese parachute troops have landed in the Philippines. The A.B.C.D. fleets, r American command, appear to nave been successful against the air and sea invasions.
The Japanese bombed the Clark Field, the largest army air base in the Philippines. Japanese planes also bombed Nauru and Ocean Islands.
The Manila correspondent of the American Press says the Japanese bombed military bases and ports throughout the Philippines today. The attack on Davao was directed against American aircraft in the bay. Two raids on the Philippines yesterday by high-flying Japanese bombers caused at least 2(|j casualties.
The Japanese plane losses are reported to be high. The raiders dropped leaflets promising liberation for the Philippines.
